With Astound self-installation, you can set up your equipment at your convenience. Follow these easy instructions to get your Astound internet connected quickly.

In your Astound Internet Self-Installation Kit you will find:

    • Internet modem
    • Ethernet cable
    • Coaxial cable
    • Power cord
    • Some kits contain eero

Connecting your modem

1 Connect the modem to either end of the coax cable.

2 Then connect the other end of the coax cable to the wall.

3 Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and the other end into modem.

10 minutes Allow up to 10 minutes for modem to power up.

Setting up a wireless connection

If your modem has wireless capabilities follow these steps.
 

Get network name

1 Collect Network Name (SSID) from the bottom of your modem. This shows the name(s) of the wireless network(s) available. We recommend using the SSID listed after “5 GHz:” on the label but you may use to either.

2 Open wireless settings on your computer and click on the wireless network that has the same SSID as the bottom of the modem and enter the preshared key (encryption) from your modem label.

For optimal wireless signal and speed, place your modem in an open space, such as on top of a cabinet.

An Astound Internet Self-Installation Kit allows you to install your Astound internet equipment when you are ready. Once you receive your equipment, just unbox, plug in and connect! Clear step-by-step instructions are included and your equipment will be provisioned and ready to start cruising the internet!

Great question. When scheduling an appointment with a customer care agent, or when placing an order on our website, you can choose either delivery by mail or express drop-off.

Astound offers you two ways in which to receive your self-installation kit:

Delivery by mail: Your kit is delivered via mail within 3-5 days of ordering. Prior placing the order, our agent will ensure your order and residence qualify for self-installation.

Express Drop-off: After placing you order, our technician will arrive at your location and:

    • Ensure the network is ready to go outside of your residence.
    • Leave the Astound Express Self-Installation Kit wherever you’ve requested.

Billing starts as soon as you plug in the modem and connect to the internet. If you do not plug in the modem within (14) days of its receipt, billing will begin on day 15 and continue on a monthly recurring basis.

At this time, self-installation is only available for Internet service or Internet Service + Mobile.
