SAN MARCOS, TX - FEBRUARY 10, 2014 — Grande Communications, the Texas-based broadband communications company offering Internet, TV and phone services, announced that it is the first provider to launch 1 Gigabit Internet service in Austin beginning February 18. Priced at $64.99, Grande’s 1 Gigabit Internet service, dubbed “Power 1000,” promises to be Austin’s most affordable 1 Gigabit Internet service as well. Using fiber-to-the-home technology, Power 1000 service will be available in parts of the Belmont, Rosedale, Bryker Woods, Pemberton Heights, Tarrytown, Oakmont Heights and Old Enfield neighborhoods in West Austin.
Customers in these areas can call Grande now to pre-order new service. No Contracts or Bandwidth Usage Caps Apart from beating major competitors to the market with 1 Gbps speed, Grande will further differentiate from the competition with some additional advantages for customers. Unlike other providers, Grande will never share customer’s personal information or track online activity to sell to any company or organization. Power 1000 will also offer customers the freedom of no contracts or bandwidth usage caps. And as part of a commitment to putting customers first, Grande is offering a money-back guarantee during the first 30 days if a customer is unsatisfied with the service. Beginning March 4, all of Grande’s Austin residential Internet customers on older packages will receive significant speed upgrades at no additional charge.
Customers with Internet service below 15 Mbps will automatically be upgraded to Power 15 Mbps, customers with 30 Mbps will have their speed increased to Power 50 Mbps and those with 65 Mbps will jump to 75 Mbps. Customers will receive detailed communications about their specific package improvements and speed upgrades in March. Broadband Communities Magazine
