SAN ANTONIO, TX, June 24, 2013 - As the song goes, "What a difference a day makes."
On June 20, employees of San Marcos-based Grande Communications rolled up their sleeves and got to work on a new playground for the Boys Town Texas campus.
Employees began arriving on the scene between 9 a.m. and noon, and completed the installation of the new playground by 5 p.m.
The employees were joined by foster children, foster parents and employees of Boys Town - who helped to clean up the area of the old playground site.
Grande employees also weeded the volleyball court and trimmed trees to make the outdoors more inviting to Boys Town residents.
As previously reported by the Business Journal http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/blog/2013/06/grande-employees-to-give-boys-town.html, it was a recent trip to Boys Town that originally prompted the playground project.
By Friday, June 21, the volleyball court and the new playground were in full swing for the first day of summer pool parties on the Boys Town campus, which is located at 8410 Flanagan Street on the Northwest Side.
As for the swings from the old playground, Grande employees plan to install then on trees around the campus.
