AUSTIN, TX, August 29, 2012 - Move over movies in the park, college football has arrived -- on the outdoor big screen.
The Longhorn Network, Grande Communications and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department will host viewing parties of the first two University of Texas football games at Republic Square Park in downtown Austin.
The UT vs. Wyoming game on Sept. 1 and the Texas vs. New Mexico game on Sept. 8 will be shown at the free event. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and kickoff will start at 7 p.m. on both days.
Fans are being asked to enter the park in the southeast corner. Organizers say there will also be games, giveaways, face painting and a beer garden. Outside food, drinks and pets are not allowed.
