GRANDE COMMUNICATIONS EXTENDS ITS LEAD AS FASTEST INTERNET PROVIDER WITH LAUNCH OF NEW 110 MEGABITS-PER-SECOND "PEAK" SERVICE

Now beats competitors' speed at every price level in Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Waco, Midland and Odessa markets

SAN MARCOS, TX, July 11, 2011 - Grande Communications today launched "Peak," a 110 megabits per second (Mbps) Internet service that is the fastest available from any provider in its seven core metropolitan Texas markets.

"Peak" is the ideal service for avid gamers, streamers of HD video from Netflix, Hulu and other services, and heavy downloaders. The new service joins Grande's 65 Mbps Unleashed, 40 Mbps Ultra and 24 Mbps Power services launched earlier this year, as well as 8 and 3 Mbps Internet services.

Grande now offers the fastest and widest choice of speeds available at prices lower than any other provider.

With Grande's new Peak service, Internet customers can download an HD movie (2 gigabytes) in 2.6 minutes, compared to 28 minutes with a typical 8 to 10 Mbps Internet service. They also can download 1,000 MP3 songs (3 megabytes each) in 3.8 minutes, versus 42 minutes; 500 photos (3 megabytes each) in 1.9 minutes, versus 21 minutes; or 10,000 documents (250 kilobytes each) in 3.1 minutes, versus 34 minutes. In addition, they can play massively multiplayer online games with virtually no lag or slowdowns.

Grande's new Peak service is available immediately for both new and existing customers in the company's Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Waco, Midland and Odessa markets.
