Grande in the Community

As a Texas-based company, we want to stay involved in the Texas communities that we service. We reach out to nonprofit organizations and schools, as well as civic and neighborhood groups to sponsor and participate in local initiatives. Over the years we have sponsored festivals, partnerships in education, youth activities, neighborhood cleanups, fun runs, food drives, health forums and many more events. Our goal is to help local residents and strengthen the sense of community and connectivity within the neighborhoods we service.

CAF AIRSHO

October 11-12, 2014 | 8:30am

Midland Int'l Airport | 9600 Wright Dr | Midland

Join Grande Communications at the 2014 Commemorative Air Force's AIRSHO, presented by Western National Bank, is an Airshow held at Midland International Airport in Midland, Texas. The CAF's first AIRSHO was held in 1963, making it one of the oldest Airshows in the country. AIRSHO is also known as "The Best Warbird Show in America." The CAF currently has 160 warbird aircraft in the fleet, many of which attend AIRSHO. In addition to one of the most impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft, you'll also see some of the most popular civilian aerobatic performers. In addition to dazzling display of aircraft, you want to be sure to watch the CAF's Pyrotechnic Groups, the "Blastards" and "EOD" (Explosive Ordnance Detachment) . These award-winning groups of licensed pyrotechnic technicians shake the ground with simulated bombing raids, strafing runs and the infamous "wall of fire."

Basin BBQ Blowout

October 16, 2014 | 5:00pm

Downtown at 6th & Jackson | Odessa

Each Fall, over a hundred local businessmen and women step out of their offices and sally up to the grill. Collars loosened, aprons tightened, they are ready to smoke it out for the title Best BBQ of the Basin. Competitors bring their own equipment, ranging from modest smokers to full mobile-kitchens, and set up side-by-side. Teams (most from companies outside the food industry) compete in one or more of the following categories: Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Brisket, and Best "Other" Meat. The winners are revealed at the Basin BBQ Blowout's general admission event. It's networking, the West Texas way.
